Hello all, I am just now completing the forms for AOS. I am doing the I765 and I am currently on OPT. On the I765 there is a question that states: "I AM APPLYING FOR: 1. PERMISSION TO ACCEPT EMPLOYMENT

2. REPLACEMENT

3. RENEWAL OF PERMISSION TO ACCEPT EMPLOYMENT"

I am not sure which one I should select as my OPT expires 05/05/12 but I want to ensure that I never have a period where I am not working. Your knowledge is appreciated.

10/12/08- My husband and I had our first date.

03/28/11- Our Wedding! smile.png

11/17/11- Our AOS packet finally mailed on my bday! smile.png

11/26/11- Email/text notifications for all petitions received

11/28/11- Checks Cashed

12/03/11- NOAs for all petitions received in the mail

12/16/11- RFE received

01/07/12- Biometrics appt received

01/31/12- Biometrics appt completed

02/02/12- RFE sent to uscis

02/06/12- RFE received by uscis

02/10/12- Sent tax return

02/13/12- Tax return received by USCIS

02/15/12- EAD and AP approved. Card production ordered.

02/24/12- Received Combo card in the mail

03/06/12-Notification on USCIS site that interview notice for 04/11 was sent

04/11/12- Interview (Approved on the spot)

01/27/14- ROC Packet mailed to USCIS

01/31/14- USPS shows packet was delivered

02/08/14- NOA 1 received, dated 02/03/14

02/14/14- Biometric letter received for 03/07/14

1. Permission to accept employment. Even though you have an EAD through OPT, you are now applying for a new one through AOS, not renewing the one you currently have.

05/12/2011 - Day 70 - EAD Arrived, issued on 05/02

06/14/2011 - Day 103 - E-mail notice: Interview letter mailed, interview scheduled for July 20th

07/20/2011 - Day 139 - Interview at Federal Plaza USCIS location

07/22/2011 - Day 141 - E-mail approval notice received (Card production)

Thank you Little_My! :) Are the only fees I have to pay for my AOS the $1070 and then the $420 for the I130? I have seen somethings to suggest that I will not have to pay for the I-131 if filing for AOS. And how long does it take generally to get approval for the Advance Parole?

Yes, the only filing fees are those you mentioned. However, there are other expenses such as the cost of the medical and vaccinations if you need any, making copies, getting passport photos, etc. I'd say it is good to be prepared to spend around $2,000 in the process altogether.

I-131 does not cost anything when filed with the I-485. Normally people get their EADs and APs within 90 days from filing the AOS package. For some it takes 60 days, for others 100.. but around three months is usually how long it takes.
