NVC finally replied to our email on case number. We also made numerous calls to them since our NOA 2 was dated July 2011. But we are pretty confused with the content of the email. The case number and the embassy contact and address where the visa is to be issued were written on the email but there is also another paragraph that said that they have returned our petition to USCIS and for further inquiries we should contact USCIS. Anyone having the same problem?

I had the same problem where both of them were telling me the case is with the other. You just have to wait it out and keep calling the CIS as well as NVC and ask them where your file is. Don't forget to mention that each of them are saying the file is with the other agency and they need to find the file and get back to you. They're customer service and they have to get back to you although it may take some time. Mine took almost a yr to sort out. Writing via snail mail helped in my case. It's a black hole when they send the file to each other. It's as though it's sent to the other agency and stored in a box in a dark room until someone decides to clean it up some day.

Good Luck!

I got my GC based on an F2B which later converted to an F2A. It took close to 10yrs during which I tried applying for the DV unsuccessfully. My GF who is a first time applicant got selected for DV2015! We're keeping our fingers crossed.

You can also try filing the Form I-824, Application for Action on Approved Petition, at the office which approved the I-130 if it has been too long. Maybe that will help.....you might want to check with your attorney before doing so.

This is the question also answered by a lawyer. I checked the form. See the forms here:

Thank you raverz for taking the time to send me the info and link. This visa whole process is taking its toll on me. We filed in Nov 2010 and still waiting for it. It is very frustrating to see those who filed after us got their visas easily.

Haha....sama sama!!! Mine was filed in 2002..just got my GC 2 days back! so u can imagine the rough ride. I've been separated from family for over a decade!
