It's probably easier to batch them up, especially if adjudicators can work at home (I shudder to think my diligently organized documents are being shuttled around in someone's trunk, but alas, what can I do).

I think if the process were faster (like it should be), you wouldn't notice the differences as much as you do. If everyone got them in the one week it *should* take, nobody would care about an extra day or so.

I know some people there and I know they work 10 hour days and that they are not goofing off. (at least not more so than any other average American office worker) I also know they process hundreds of thousands of various documents of which spouse/fiancee visas are a very small percentage. The only way they could go from 5 months to 1 week would be to increase the staff 20 times. They are not going to and you would not be willing to pay for it.

As for your diligently organized file? It was dismantled immediately and put into one of their file folders. It looks like all the others right now. It is in the same order as everyone else's. If you did more than paper clip it together, you wasted a lot of time.

It is put in one of their folders, the unnecessary stuff like "proof of relationship" is put to the back and it is put in a box. All the boxes look the same but they are labeled with case numbers which correspond to dates received. If you get a "touch" it usually means the box was scanned, not that anyone touched your file per se. All files in that box get an update. It could be that it was moved to an adjudicators office and they assigned it to that adjudicator. They DO know where every file is, exactly where it is, at all times. The people you talk to on the phone do not have that information.

Moving a box of files to someones house need not be any more traumatic than loading them in trucks and sending them all over the US from the lockbox facility or moving them from St Albans to Essex Jct, VT. What do you think would happen? I am glad they have contracted adjudicators when needed. I keep hearing rumors they are going to eliminate them but they have been saying that a long time.

Maybe telling u what I did will help, since I am sure I am 1 of the people whose cases moved quickly that u refer to. I made sure my fiance emailed his ds230. I don't know if u sent urs by mail or email. They didn't respond to it & then I realized it was b/c he didn't include our names and dates of birth. I resent it with that info and the 2nd Inquiry and nvc case # header & we got it right away. They always responded to me by email within a week, so keep trying to do it that way. I hope I was helpful.

Good luck!

Thank You dear. When he recieved packet3 he completed DS230 online and brought in a signed copy. I sent an inquiry last monday and did not get any respond. I planned on sending a second one this Monday. Hopefully I'll get a helpful respond.
