Sorry to hear your preliminary results of having to take the sputum test. It's not the end of the world but it is two months of your life in limbo waiting for the results. They'll first take the smear, three days in a row and finally the culture which grows for two months. If the smear is negative, you can let 1/2 a breath out. When you hopefully get the culture results negative you can fully exhale. As for asking for another xray, it wouldn't hurt to at least ask about it but if I'm not mistaken, St. Luke's is the only one contracted to do medicals for US Visa's so they have the control. Ask and you'll find out, never ask and always wonder!!

Best of luck and use the two months to prepare yourself for the big change.
