Hey Guys,

To everyone who is going to be submitting their documents to VFS office 7-10 days prior to their interview.

My husband went to VFS office on Aug 29th in Mumbai to drop off all the documents which were required to be submitted prior to the interview. Documents which VFS accepted were passport copy, passport size pictures, DS-230 forms, Birth Certificate (Gujarati & English) copy, Marriage Certificate copy, Police Clearance Certificate copy, Interview letter, and Medical Report.

They gave him receipt which was a checklist for the list of documents which was submitted to VFS. They didn't accept his X-ray reports nor proof of relationships. He was told that he needs to take X-ray reports and proof of relationship with him on the day of the interview.

I hope that this information will help out everyone else who is getting closer to the VFS stage of the process :)

Does my wife have to re-submit the above If I had already submitted them to NVC along with my DS-230 Package?

You don't have to submit anything that had already been submitted at NVC. Your interview letter will be very clear of the additional documents you will need to submit.

  • Courier fee Rs 387
  • Copy (first and last page) and Original Passport (Original will be returned)
  • Copy and Original Interview letter (in our case where we get email, it doesn't matter)
  • 3 2x2 passport photos
  • Medical report
  • Any other documents (like PCCs) that have not been submitted or any documents asked for specifically in your case (if you have not submitted copies of the originals submitted at NVC, then you can submit those).

VFS will not accept any additional evidence - like marraige photos.....
