Greetings fellow VJ members,

My wife and I are currently waiting for our NOA2 (Filed I-130 on May 26th) and I wanted to find out some additional info about the AOS. The situation is this.....

I'm a low wage earner who started my job last November 1st, before that I was unemployed for about 2 years so my past 3 years income tax returns are very low. I have in my hands the transcripts from the IRS. Although I had been out of work I'm in ok financial position due to a low cost of living and a few non-employment incomes, but they are relatively new.

1. I own my condo outright which I purchased Dec 2009 (Got the Rebate) for 37,900

2. I hold a mortgage on my sisters condo which I bought for her November 9th 2009 Currently she owes me a balance of aproximately 30,000

3. I have a rental condo which is worth about 16,000 on todays market, but has a loan of 47,500 (not sure If I have to report this mortgage or can just not list this as an asset.

4. I have 20,000 in the bank.

5. My job is only 8.75 an hour and I started in 11/2010, but took a leave of absence from April 20th until june 5th to go get married.

6. My sister is going to file with me as a backup and has the income to qualify(60,000 a year job)

What I want to do is file my AOS of support then quit my job or take another leave to go back and wait with my wife for her visa. What I need to know is if the AOS along with the letter from my boss and paycheck stubs has to be updated for the interview or if they just can use the AOS from the visa center.

If I return to the Philippines to wait will they request updated paycheck stubs and letter? Will they deny because I quit? Or will all the current assets along with my sister filing be good enough?

Thanks for any advice....Its been 3 months and I really really want to be with my wife.

Someone else will hopefully be along soon that can answer your questions concerning assets. I just wanted to point out that only the most current tax year is required. Going 3 years back is optional. If they dont help your case dont use them. Jim.
