I-130 and I129F Approved at the same time

On Aug 24, 2011 I received an email that my I-130 had been approved (as opposed to the I-129F I also filed for K3 Visa). Then, 4 days later I get 2 NOA2's in the mail. It appears they were both approved on the same day. I initially thought that maybe I'd be going the CR1 route since the I130 was approved but now I think it may go K3. My question is.....will one get to NVC before the other and therefore one be chosen first to be processes further? Or with they send both to Dominican Republic (where my husband lives) ?

Also, if they do send both, will I need to do double the paperwork/fees?

Any clarification is appreciated.

Hard to say which one will arrive first.

If the I-129F arrives at the NVC first, it will be assigned a case number and sent to the Embassy, a K3 will be in play and you can pursue it if you wish.

If the I-130 and I-129F arrive at the NVC at the same time or if the I-130 arrives at the NVC before the I-129F, the I-129F will be administratively closed by the NVC leaving only the I-130 for CR-1 active.

There have been some instances of the I-129F for K3 arriving at the NVC first. Regardless of what happens, please update.

They are not doing K3s in the DR. You will be much better off with the CR-1 anyway. If you have the I-130 approved, why would you want to pursue the K3 anyway?

No, I'd rather do the CR1 but stupid me, when I started this process I didn't look into it enough and thought K3 was the only option. Also, I was surprised at how unhelpful USCIS was in answering questions or giving any type of guidance in the matter when I was send my forms in. But hopefully the I130 gets through NVC first and then they'll take care of it all.

My question now is, since you brought up that DR isn't doing K3.........will it iron itself out if the I129F goes through NVC first? What can or will I have to do?
