Name checks

I've researched and read everything I can find about Name Checks and altho nobody can predict the amount of time it takes does it seem to take less time than it did a year or two ago? I've read the update from 2008 saying that the name checks are undergoing a change and they are taking care of back logged names ASAP.

Just trying to get some info...anybody please give me any ideas or clues... ? Like I said ... I know there is no way anybody can predict the time it takes but just wondering if they are more effecient today than last year.

hi how are u doing eabbas how u knows ur husband is under name checks

i m in AP.......... since march 10 .2011 in interview co asked for joint sponsor wen i submitted joint sponsor they accepted it on 19 may 2011 my AP was started from 19 may or day of interview 10 march any time wen i m calling us embassy they are just saying ur case is in under AP .. i asked them what is AP y u guys put me in AP

they just saying its computer work . dey didnt told me anything about name check or background check etc .......

I got a phone call from embassy on july 25th and he asked me a few questions then said evthing is good iwth ur case and u have no worries now we have just one last check which is name checks so we will begin this and then when its complete we can issue visa.

but whenever we also check with dos it always says pending they cant say for name checks or not....

dunno adil isnt very common i didnt think...but inshallah just praying for visa soon.

Same here just praying for a visa soon. I've read that FBI name checks take 48 to 72 hours; if a red flag comes up the process takes longer.

ye ive read that too but right now i dont think they have done the namechecks i think we are still in que for them bcos when i spoke to the dos they said it hasnt been done but that was the only thing left for us per the co he said our case is fine no need for further docs and we will do last thing which is name checks...i dunno how long it takes to start

u know my spouse had interview on 14 July 2011 and we still havent heard anything from CO or Embassy yet. Last time when I checked , our case was under AP.

My husband's CR1 visa was approved on August 8 at the US embassy in Riyadh Saudi Arabia. This morning I called the embassy to inquire about case status. They said processing has started. But they sent out the request on August 20 and it could take months. I geusse what they mean is that they started the name check process on the 20th. Its so frustrating. Now we dont even know how much longer it might take.

Yeah i think we are like that too... july 25th the co said he would begin name checks but idk if we have actually been entered into the system... i guess it all takes time to be uploaded and we have to wait our turn... i think that may be part of the long process is being in Que for the name checks...once they begin i dont think it will take that long unless there is a hit...

AP is the hardest thing in this visa process and the worst thing don't know when it will end

Ap Admin Processing is a term they used to check any thing on you or your sponsor. name check or security clearance from DOS take time. I was a victim of Ap to, many applicant are going under this label of Ap. You have no way to know just wait it out. I took 5 months for my wife.

Regarding my in law case???I have a question to ask if NVC is asking a police certificate and we already send it with DS 230 form. Now they are saying we did not received it, but i am dam sure i send the police certificate. I talk to the NVC operator and she is telling me we will ask supervisor to look into file but it will take 10-15 days. Do you thing this is better or we get a duplicate from Pakistan and send it again.

As per department of state website, most administrative processing is resolved within 60 days of the visa interview & before making inquiries about status of administrative processing, applicants or their representatives will need to wait at least 60 days from the date of interview.

Now Us Consulate Islamabad, some visa applications require further administrative processing, which takes additional time (six months or longer)

And when I sent them email for changing US address, in the reply of my email, I received automated response which was , if your AP is longer than 10 months then you can send us email and can inquire about it, less than that will not be answered,

we just called dos and they didnt tell us much but the guy was hinting that we were having name checks @ the embassy level and said when they complete the process @ embassy they will contact u or email u to pick up visa
