Hello AGAIN,

I'm having trouble posting. I'm sorry if this question is now in triplicate.

My fiance received the email 'Packet 3' link about two weeks ago from the consulate in Bangkok. We had all of our 'Packet 3' documents ready to go. Accordingly, (and very, very happily) we sent ' Packet 3'. Yesterday my fiance received a 'Packet 3' letter from the consulate with another 'Packet 3' link. Both links are very similar but slightly different. The email 'Packet 3' link requested a 'signed check list' but no DS-2001. The link included for Packet 3 in the letter from the consulate has a link that requires the DS-2001, but no 'signed checklist.' In sum, we sent in the 'signed checklist' as instructed by the email 'Packet 3' link, but not the DS-2001 as instructed by the letter from the embassy 'Packet 3' link. The 'signed checklist' and DS-2001 seem to be very similar in their intent.

Has anyone else experienced this? Do you know if this will be a problem? If so, do you know of any way to rectify this problem?

Arrgh...so close, yet so far!

Thank you again VJ members. It has been a very special experience to share this journey with all of you.

Sincerely,

Eric

The idea of these forms is to make sure the person doesnt come to the intervew without the correct documents required to allow the issuance of the visa.

I doubt there will be a problem but it may be a good idea to take the other form to the interview. The officer wants to complete the process as much as you do. Give them what they need to do that & there should be no problem.

If you just have to have a direct answer from them to feel better send your fiance to buy a special pin number at the post office that allows calls into the embassy to ask.

Eric,

we had the same thing happen to us and we didn't have any problems. But Nan brought both forms to the interview just in case they asked. They didn't ask, but we were ready just in case. Remember, for the interview, bring all the forms and documents you can. Also bring copies of them, just in case they lost something and they ask you for another copy (it happens).
