Bank Draft/UK Postal Order for ACRO Police Certificate

Hi everyone,

My fiance (the beneficiary) lived in the UK before moving back to Pakistan. We need to get a UK Police Certificate -- we have the ACRO application finished but are now having issues with getting a 'UK Cheque, UK Postal Order or Bankers Draft' for the fee.

I am mailing the application from the US. I called my local bank and for some weird reason, they don't offer foreign bank drafts. I called Wells Fargo where my parents have an account and they charge $30 for the draft. Although I normally wouldn't mind paying the fee, we're requesting premium service on the certificate already and I want to avoid paying a really high fee. I tried USPS and they said their international money orders are not accepted by the UK.

Any suggestions from those of you who sent for an ACRO certificate from the US?

Sounds like you might have to pay for the $30 draft.

Do you have friends in the UK who could help?

05-31-2011 - RFE requested. They want better passport pictures of me.

08-01-2011 - Packet 3 returned to Embassy.

12-27-2011 - (3) NOA I-797C received, dated 12-20-2011. Biometrics appt set.

01-10-2012 - Biometrics.

01-20-2012 - Notified of interview appointment for 2-21-2012.

01-31-2012 - EAD and AP approved.

02-08-2012 - EAD/AP card received.

02-21-2012 - AOS interview approved. EAD/AP card confiscated.

03-01-2012 - Green Card in hand!!!
