Hi,

After lots of emails, the embassy sent a message saying they sent Packet 3 at the beginning of August, but nothing's been received yet. I know what documents are needed (Applicant statement & DS230 part I, right?), does anyone know if we can just send them in? Or where we'd send them to? Any other filers for New Delhi had this issue with P3?

You don't have to wait for Packet 3 in New Delhi...here are the instructions we received from VFS.

Enclosed please find the attached form DS-230 Part 1 and the Applicant Statement.

I think that New Delhi doesn't actually send Packeet 3, they just say they did and save the postage. When you finally complain you didn't receive it, then they send you the instructions to do it yourself.

Thanks Bec_Dipu - I think you might be right about the mail! We've had our own problems with the mail there, though, so it's possible it's lost or (shock!) slowly coming. Any other tips? How was the interview last week?!?

Sadly I have no tips for you - I have just been calling the embassy often and sending emails...if youre in the New Delhi area the email is infousdelhi@vfshelpline.com - they're usually very prompt about answering emails.

Yea, New Delhi either dosent send packet 3 or it just gets lost, your best bet is to download all of packet 3 contents from the US embassy new Delhi wedsite, you just need ds230 part 1 and 2, fill it out and email it to infousdelhi@vfshelpline.com, in the subject line put your case number and state packet 3, it will take them a couple of days to process everything, also in your email state that you would like a electronic copy and paper copy of packet 4 and appointment letter.

After you send the email you can also cal Department of State and ask if a interview date has been scheduled, that number is 202-663-1225, option 1 then 0.

Yea part 1, Im just used to saying part 1 and 2.

Wow I guess I'm lucky. I got packet 3 from the New Delhi embassy. Within 2 weeks of NVC approval. But yeah You need to submit the Applicant Statement, DS-230, & the check list, however I never saw the check list online anywhere I think you can only get it from the embassy. Anyway I wish you the best of luck let me know if you need anything else. I'm is the same sinking ship. This has taken way longer & way more frustration than I ever thought possible. I just wish it was all over. Take care~Laura

So where do we put the required passport photo(s)? Or is that not until the interview? Sorry if thats a dumb question; there's a huge box on the top Left of DS230; is that for a photo or not?
