Extending The Petition ???

Hello, I am wondering if anyone knows or has any experience on getting the petition extended? We are having toubles getting all the paperwork together for the checklist....(***Police Certificate!!:(***) and we need to extend it so we can wait for the the police certificate. Anyone know how to get the petition extended and what we can do?????? The embassy that we are going thru is in Frankfurt Germany... Thanks for any information !! James

hello, I think you just have to communicate with the consulate office and inform them of your concerns. The approved petition can automatically extended for another 4 months. My Fiance also called the NVC and USCIS, as earlier we were also quiet worried of our petition expiration date, very approaching. He was informed that we should be alright as we are now on process. The 4 months duration is just an estimate to do all the paperwork, but it can be extended. Hope this helps you. Probably other more experienced members could come in and give you more concrete answer.

I could be extending our petition as well, and I asked this question a little while back. Several people were kind enough to say the same. As long as we're in contact with the embassy and tell them of our concerns, we'll get an extension. Hope this helps too.
