Age difference in itself is not a reason for denial of an I-130 petition. My husband and I have a 20yr age difference and had our I-130 approved with no RFEs.

Your age difference is not that much...but is it normal for a male of your culture to marry an older female? If not, then just be prepared that you may be questioned about that at your interview. Just make sure you have lots of proof of your relationship and you should be ok.

Good luck!

thanks for the information KLS, i appreciate it.

anyone from pakistan having this situation, please help

There are several of us who are older women...

Yes for the embassy itself they do look deeper into relations where the woman is older. Most definitely more than 20 yrs and especially when she is beyond child bearing age. There are many that have been approved, we also have an age difference of 15 yrs.

They did a 45 min interview asking him every question you can imagine as we have nothing to hide Adil was honest and when they called me to do phone interview I was the same. We were very complete in our documentation of our relationship, we made sure to have plenty of pictures of all his family with us at our nikah... we had letters from his family, and uncles, mom and sisters saying they were there at the time he proposed and at the time of nikah helping to plan the wedding and they approve. IT's crucial that the family also approve the relationship... we had lots of other proof of communication and gifts, letters etc...

Once the CO talked with me 5 weeks after interview and I think they also checked the validity of our nikah during that time as it was done at a large Masjid and also registered thru NADRA....he was satisfied and our case is complete at the embassy now just awaiting on last thing... the co told us evthing is fine and we have nothing to worry about now that all this is complete the only thing left for adil was name check. So that's where we are now...

You will be fine just be sure to have plenty of proof and make sure all your records for marriage and evthing are clear and solid.

thanks Eabbas, it means i need to take lots of pictures with family and at the time of Nikah. and also need to save our skype call records that is a way how we communicate.

what is AP ?

i hope your husband will get his visa soon, inshaAllah

Yes take many pictures keep records of all chats, emails, letters, gifts phone calls and anything else you can show you are in a relationship.

AP is administrative processing... Most men and some women get this after interview ..sometimes its for reviewing of documents like us in the beginning and then its also for name checks thru fbi where we are now... they do a last check on the immigrant to be sure they are who they say they are and not have anything in their criminal database etc....

its one of those things that's done only after visa is approved and there isnt a time frame for it..it can last a week a month ...many months or a year or two... those that take a year or two usually have a name that matches someone else and they have to verify it isnt them.

I just pray our ap ends soon... we've already been at 7 almost 8 weeks past interview...

evthing will be fine just be sure to carry all your documents to prove your relationship to interview...
