Here's a question for those more experienced with the process... Amy got her new passport and noticed a mistake on her place of birth. Instead of JOSE OCC.MDO, they wrote JSOE OCC.MDO. Would this be a problem come interview time? Part of me says no but the other part of me is thinking that this should be taken care of just to be on the safe side. Thoughts anyone? :help::unsure:

Passport Errors & Amendments

7. Errors

If there is an error in the data on my current passport, can I get it corrected?

If there is any error that needs to be corrected in your current passport, inform our personnel on duty of the error, present your original NSO certified Birth Certificate and submit a copy with your passport application.

If the error is typographical, present both current and previous passports and the necessary correction will be made free of charge, provided that, it is done within six (6) months after its issuance and the passport remains unused.

She must had not checked it thoroughly while on the data entry process..As I remember, hey ask you to recheck the data they input in their system. And upon receiving, they also ask you to double check it. I think its better to correct it as early as possible than be sorry later.

She says she checked it when she applied for the renewal and it was all okay. Somewhere along the line, somebody messed up. It's all good now. She went back and is having them correct it. New passport will be in hand on August 19th.
