Just a quick review of the Woking Medical Services

So my medical was booked for July 27/11 @ 6:30am. I got there at about 6am and went up the elevator (Woking is on the second floor). When you get off the elevator it opens into a room with a bunch of benches/couches. There were a few people waiting there already so I went and got my number from the clinic in the back right corner, I ended up being number 4.

After waiting for about half an hour the room was pretty much full, and a nurse came out addressed us all and told us what was going to happen for the day. They had us line up by number to get two forms to fill out. The one form just asks you to write your name, date and sign it, it is a waiver basically. The other form asks about diseases you may have, you just check yes or no. Your info is typed into the forms already and you have to check to make sure it is correct, my name was spelled wrong and I put little stars by all the spots and the nurse gave me attitude for writing on the form. They then ask you to put the forms along with your proof of immunization, copy of passport identity page, letter with case number, medical history (only if needed) and photos in your passport and take it up to their counter. At this time is where you tell them what info is incorrect on your forms. At the counter the nurses check your papers to make sure you have everything then they give you the copy of your identity page, letter with case number and send you to go get your blood work. This took about half an hour.

I went to the blood work area and at this point it was about 7am. The room for the blood work is similar to the main room. When people started coming in and the room was filling up they started calling us in by sets of 5. I was #4 so I got called in the first group. They bring you in and tell you to sit in one of the chairs in the room, they go around draw your blood, take your papers, give you your number back and send you back to the main room to wait for X-rays. The ladies here were very nice and I made a joke with the technician who took my blood about how she was probably the most loved person in the clinic, she liked that, laughed and quipped that "shockingly no" lol.

Back in the main room we waited for the X-ray counter to open. They started calling us at about 7:30am. When they opened they called 4 people with me first and not the 3 who had numbers ahead of me so I am not sure how they work the order for that since I was number #4 and the others were not 1 to 3. They have you go into a tiny change room, give you a "lovely" pink smock and tell you to take everything off from the waist up. You can leave on earrings, rings, belly buttons rings or nipple rings but no necklaces. They then tell you to come out and stand in the little hall. An X-ray technician takes you into a room alone. They have you stand face first pressed right up against a board and take the X-ray. They will then tell you to go get dressed and go back to the main room to wait for the medical exam. The lady who directed us was very nice and friendly but the guy taking the X-ray was all business.

In the main room we waited until about 8:15ish and then they started calling people in for their medicals. These they did in numerical order. I was called at about 8:30am. The nurse ushered me into a room, told me to take everything off other than my bra and panties and then sit on the examining table with a thin sheet of paper to cover myself. I waited for only a couple of minutes before the Dr. came in. It was a male Dr. attended by a female nurse. He took my blood pressure, checked my ears, throat and had me breath in and out a couple of times while he listened to my breathing. Then he told me everything was good and wished me good luck. The nurse told me to get dressed and just come out when I was ready. When I came out she was waiting and asked me to come with her. She then weighed me, took my height and checked my eye sight. After that she told me to go to the counter to pay. I gave the other nurse there my money order, she gave me a receipt and told me I was done and to come back at about 1pm to get my results.

I was done by about 8:45. I wandered downtown Vancouver until 1pm and went back to get my results and I was all done.

All in all it was a pretty painless process and other than the one brunette nurse the staff is friendly and nice.

If anyone has questions feel free to ask.

Thank you for your review... I have my medical tomorrow and I am dreading it... Not because of the physical its the tone that the clinic has on their website. They just sound douchey.

Glad to know that if I am there early I will be out quickly! Thanks again!!
