Hello again!

Well it looks like I will have ample time to put together packet 3 while I am waiting for NVC case number so that is what I am doing. However, I have become hopelessly confused.

For a couple of months now I have been scouring the Bangkok Embassy website for Packet 3 information. For awhile there I thought I had it figured out. Can anyone tell me what my fiance and I need to send in for Packet 3? The embassy website seems to say two different things in two different parts of the website. It looks like there are two different sets of somewhat conflicting "Packet 3" instructions.

For a month or so the following is what I thought I had to send (and the rest my fiance would bring to the interview):

-'Signed checklist' (DS-2001?) certifying that I had gathered required documents and was prepared to interview

-DS-230 Part 1

-Two frontal photographs

-Photocopy of passport photo page.

Somehow I have been reading some other 'K visa' 'Packet 3' instructions on the embassy website and to my understanding there is a list of about 15 things they want with Packet 3. About half of those documents may or may not be applicable depending on one's situation.

So, what did you send in? How did it work out? Which directions did you follow? What is the date of the most recent packet 3 instructions? Am I crazy?

Thank you so much for your hard work,

Eric

I ran into the same issue.

It seems like packet 3 and 4 are very similar, only packet 4 asks for the medical documents.

We sent in everything they asked for in packet 3, except for the original passport and birth certificate. (to be brought to the interview)

We will include copies of packet 3, with all of our pack 4 documents.

Only time will tell if this is the correct way to do this.

You are correct there are 2 different packet 3's out there on their website. If you get a packet 3 in mail(some people have not gotten it) here is the link you will get http://bangkok.usembassy.gov/root/pdfs/k_instructions_package_may09.pdf. When Pui sent in her packet 3 back in Apirl we used the other packet 3 on their website and had no problems. There is not much of a difference between the two but there are a few differences. To ease your mind you can always email the embassy once you have your BNK# from NVC and ask which is the one they are expecting. See this link on the format they want you to email the embassy http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/321633-interview-schedule/. Good luck.

tyrismagoo, your packet 4 documents will be the sealed xray and any other medical documents they put in it at the hospital and you bring it to the interview. You are not supposed to open the sealed document so you cannot make copies. Just make sure if they mark your medical as uncompleted to get a copy of what vaccinations you will need to finish for AOS.

When we sent in packet 3 we sent in the copies of the originals and brought the originals to the interview.
