Hello everyone,

My fiance' and I are anxiously awaiting our NOA2, unfortunately our case status does not show up on the USCIS website and our lawyer(which we have just to save us headache) hasn't been able to get anywhere with the case status either. We Filed the NOA1 on April 11, 2011. I spent 2 months in Vancouver with my fiance' but had to return for work, but now I am pregnant and trying to plan a wedding that we do not yet have a date for. If anyone has any information on how long it takes to get an appointment with the consulate for an interview after the approval please let me know.

Thanks

well you have to get the rest of the papers and medical etc done and the paperwork has to go through NVC to the embassy before that so I would expect another month or two after you get the NOA2.

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.

Vancouver is very efficient. We were able to schedule an interview 2-3 weeks into the future. You can schedule the medical the same day or within the week- more info on this site if you search for it. You can have a lot of the data ready in advance.

Additionally, my fiance accidentally opened all those nicely stamped "Do not open" envelopes that came with the visa. He emailed and called Vancouver, they told him he had to send all the info back to Vancouer via DHL for them to reseal and recertify. They sent it all back within a week, in time for him to make the flight he had already booked.

We had emailed Vancouver multiple times during the process and every time had an answer within the day, sometimes within hours. For us, they were a nice change from the long waiting without insight at the VSC.

K1 Process:

NOA1 17 Sept 10

Touched 3 Oct 10

Placed Service Request 25 March 11

NOA2 4 April 11

Left NVC 15 April 11

Packet 3 letter dated 19 April 11

Packet 3 response sent 6 May 11

Interview 26 May 11

K1 received 1 June 11

Entered US 26 June 11

Married 6 August 11

K-1's are throught either, K-3's go through Montreal only as far as I know and the office you are sent to depends on where you are located in the country. I have heard that you can contact the consulates and ask for a switch. Whether they will consider the request is another matter.

Absolutely no truth what so ever.

You can only have your K-1 done in Vancouver if you live in or near Vancouver.

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought I read that applicants from Manitoba and west of, interview in Van and applicants Ontario and east interview in Montreal.

You are right. Applicants must be residing in BC, AB, SK, MB, the Yukon or the Northwest Territories to go through Vancouver. All others go through Montreal.
