Hi, all,

I apply IR5 for my mom. I want to choose electric processing.

My mom doesn't know how to print file, recan it to file, all these stuff, right now my niece is with her, she will leave soon, I want her help my mom finish all these form issues.

Excep DS-3032 and DS-230 that need my mom's signature, what else forms or documents ( I already have all the notaries, photocopy of passport page, passport style picture) needed to send to me?

Also my niece said she tries several copy stores, it's hard to find a store that can scan a file to pdf format in my home town, so can we rescan the file to other format?

Thanks!

mom must fill out and sign the ds-3032

mom must sign the DS-230

she'll need scans of her civil documents , make sure the white books are emailed to you before the niece leaves.

you can download the I-864 and ds-230 any time...

still suggest you wait until you receive the AOS fee bill via email, is sure sign that NVC is ready for the OPT IN and the start of the document intake.

One more question:

Does my mom also has to sign Packet 3 Supplemental Information Sheet?

1) GUZ / GZO case number

2) Visa Category

3) Name of each applicant in English and Chinese characters

4) Current mailing address in Chinese characters with postal code

5) Date of Marriage (if applicable)

6) Local Telephone Number

It's a one page sheet, non-fillable, so have to hand fill in it after the title in each line, rescan to pdf, right?

Thanks!

sorry, it's part of the DS-230, a Consular Specific (GUZ) form, and yes, she has to fill it out. (GUZ P3 Supplemental)

hand fill it out - tis an ugly form, yes?

yup, scan to pdf.

re: other formats -

yes, it's possible, my fav is multi-page tiff, take it at black n white/greyscale, 200 dpi - mimics fine res fax image.

Then, when you get it, open the multi-page tiff in irfanview,

then print to pdf using the cutepdf pdf output driver.

ware the A4 to LTR size conversions, unless you have A4 size set up in yer OS or printer drivers... Is easy to output via cutepdf to A4 page size though, so shouldn't be too much of an image loss / size reduction.

Good Luck !

Might want to make sure she can send e-mails, the OPTIN has to come from her foreign e-mail address. Might want to check and see if that is still required for NVC Electronic processing for your category! Some of this data is old ( fees) might ask Darnell he knows this inside out!

How to OPT IN

First, call NVC to get your NVC casenumber. If you don't have one yet, call back daily until one is issued. This will be the PAPERCASE CaseNumber (see SpeedBumps, below).

You must send an email to a special NVC/GUZ/MTL address, with the DS-3032 (PDF version, SIGNED by hand & rescanned), with the pertinent info in the body of the email. See http://travel.state..../visa_4410.html

02-25-2010 - Change of email address -

is now - NVCElectronic@state.gov

for all NVC Electronic Processing, regardless

of Guangzhou or Montreal

Subject Line: OPTIN XXX2009123123

Body:

Petitioner's Email Address: JoeBob@yahoo.com

Beneficiary's Email Address: SallyMae@yahoo.com

Petitioner's name: JoeBob Jones

Beneficiary's name: Sally Mae Vo

Petitioner's Date of Birth: 01/12/1959

Beneficiary's Date of Birth: 04/11/1962

[Optional]Attorney of Record's name and address

Speedbumps on OPTING IN and Converting from Paper to Electronic

If you are trying to OPT IN - then the DS-3032 has to be signed by the foreign spouse, and sent to NVCElectronic@state.gov from foreign spouse's email, along with the biodata in the body of the email, AND (GASP ) the PROPER SUBJECT LINE. There's an email scanning system in place at that email address - so if 'OPTIN' is NOT in the first 5 characters of the subject line, a human will catch it 5 or 10 days later.

Then ya wait. Bug NVC about 7 to 10 business days later, via telephone, about shifting to NVC Electronic Processing. The NVC Tele-Operators are brain-dead - trained to listen for 'DS-3032' and know NOTHING about the electronic processing system (but they are totally coachable, if you know what to say to them ).

If you get any initial emails about paying stuff ONLINE, note it'll get paid on the old (i.e. GUZ) case number - but don't sweat it - the contractors at NVC will rehome the data / fees from the GUZ case to the newly created GZO case number.

If you call in to NVC, to get your GUZ case number, the Tele-Operators are trained (for paper processing ) to send you a DS-3032 kit. This kit consists of a non-fillable DS-3032 in PDF format, a fee bill for 70 bucks, and a barcode thing. IT'S OK TO PAY THIS BILL ONLINE, but do not do anything with the DS-3032 that you receive. It's the wrong one.

From some instruction, it say we should put our case number on top of right hand corner.

If I use EP, do we also need to put the case number to all the documents (include the certificates?) we submit to NVC? for DS-230 and Package 3 SUP sheet, do we also need to put the case number on top right corner before send them to beneficiary?

Thanks!

is really not needed, as the papers are sent in on yer email address, and your email address is TIED IN to the GZO # - the back room operators will know where it goes.

Those instructions (EZGUIDE or LingChe) are great to study, as you get a better handle on the paper process - one of the caveats in dealing with PAPER is that PAPER can get lost, so it makes much sense to put the GZO # on a PAPER case.

Since yer not doing a PAPER case, this part not matter.

All these forms like DS-3032, DS-0230 and Package 3 Supplement Sheet, can I ask her sign and date them?

Is the date time matter? can these form be signed in same date and before I get the case number?

Thanks!

Since you are getting close, and using a 'current' form version, IMO the date she writes will be ok.
