Hello there guys, As you can see I just mailed out the DS-230 Packet today and the reason it took so long was because someone in India decided to steal the paperwork that my wife was going to mail. I was so upset because we had to wait another month before we could get the missing documents, but today I got the paperwork from my wife and this is what I have e-mailed to NVC:

  1. Barcode Cover Sheet
  2. DS-230 Cover Sheet
  3. Completed and Signed Form DS-230 Part I
  4. Completed and unsigned Form DS-230 Part II
  5. Two Passport-Style Photo
  6. Photocopy of Beneficiary Passport Biographic Data Page
  7. Original Marriage Certificate
  8. Original Birth Certificate
  9. Original Police Certificate
  10. PCC (Passport Police Clearance) from Regional Passport Office

Does everything look good? I am hoping for no probelms with these documents and I hope they can finish up my case soon.

Now I just have these questions for you guys, please share your thoughs, Thank You All!!!

1) What happens Next now that my DS-230 will be there by tomorrow? How long should I wait befor I call NVC to check my case Status?

2) Once case is complete, how long does it usually takes before I can get an Interview Date (New Delhi, India)? Does being a Citizen gives any advantages for getting an intervew date?

3) Any Change of getting an interview in somwhere in August? (I know it's wishfull thinking, but hey I can dream and wish for it)

4) And last but now least, what docuemnst do I need to send to my wife, so we are on the same page? And if I understand correctly, when the interview date is set, The Embassy will mail my wife the packet with all the information and what docuemnst she need to bring right?

5) Does NVC e-mail me and my wife when the Interview Date is set?

I am sorry for asking so many question, but I just like to be prepared, so please share your thoughts on these questions, Again thank you for all your help and wish everyone inline all the best!

Hi,

The document you have send is fair enough there is nothing required much.

1)From the date NVC receives the document they take a maximum of 20 days. So only after 2 weeks minimum you will get chances of knowing any update is there. You can try to call them after 2 weeks so that you may know if any updates has happens. If not maximum is 20 days. Once when you call NVC and its says case completed then you are done with NVC and just wait for schedule of Interview.

2) It depends upon each case completion date, but there is a minimum period of more than 4 weeks. Since Interview is schedule every month of 2nd week only. So as per your case maximum by August 10 or August 12 the case will be completed if they feel all the documents are correct. There is no special advantages being a citizen. Since it purely depends upon case completed and they put it in queue and we need to wait until it is schedule.

3) I am really sorry the chances for August is not possible, I guess by this week the schedule for August will be done, hence once schedule they don't reschedule it, so you may get chances for September if there is less queue. Since Mumbai and New Delhi has a huge queue.

Please check this link. In this it says it takes more than 4 weeks for schedule of Interview.

4) You need to send your tax papers, your job offer letter and other things will be mentions what she needs to bring when she receives email for schedule of Interview

5) NVC will email you and your wife once the Interview date is schedule. In that letter you can see what all she needs to bring for Interview. Once she receive Interview letter she can fix an appointment with medical document and do the medical formalities and take to the Interview.

Thanks.

Hope my answers were helpful for you
