Bringing Pets when activating k1

I have 2 dogs and a hamster moving to the States with me. Just want to make sure all I need for the dogs is proof that they have their rabies shots up to date. I never have them kenneled in the car is that going to be a problem at POE? and I've read a few posts that you don't need any papers to bring the hamster over. Can anyone verify that for me? I have a parrot that has to stay with my mom for a month or so while we file the permits just want to make sure I'm not going to have any problems with the rest of the zoo! Thanks!

I've taken my dogs to Canada and they wanted to see a vet letter/certificate stating dogs were in good health condition, besides the shots paperwork; not sure if it would be same coming this way. I have also in the past brought my dogs from Sweden (and into the US), but it happens that there is no rabies in Sweden so they got a free pass so to speak.

I do recall looking up the rules in CDC web site and they did spell it out for hamster, rabbits, dogs, etc....adding link below.....seems you are correct for dogs, but you might want to read all the pertinent info

It notes that tough there might be no federal restrictions for some pets (hamsters), to check the state rules as they vary

here's a link from US Border patrol, hopefully it helps! I'm bringing my dog and two cats, so I've been looking too!What are the requirements for bringing my pet dog into the U.S.?

You may have issues bringing pet food into the US, however, it needs to be sealed, and there are some meat sources that are not permitted at all. I plan to vring in a couple of sealed bags, and hope to use up whatever open bags I have before getting to the border.
