Philippines passport

My FIANCE just went to LUCENA CITY yesterday to apply for a passport and still had to wait? It's already been his 2nd trip to the DFA in LUCENA and still nothing. All he did was wait and wait. What should he do? He needs to apply for a passport and soon. He has all required documents but what is causing the delay there?

my wife had to make a appointment then go with all her papers then wait for 3 to 4 weeks for them to send her new passport.......

Passport processing is a pain in the you know what in the Philippines. I applied for my daughter's on March 2011 and it was released on May 2011, I paid for expedited processing. Their reason was technical problems. When we got it the other applicants were told that processing was between 60 to 90 days. This was in DFA Manila.

Actually, I heard that DFA were having some technical problems because their system was hacked. So, the processing has to be centralized in Manila resulting in the piling-up of applications. Supposedly before, if you process your passport outside Manila, it would only usually take 15-30 days before the onset of that technical problems. Sad to say, one has to wait longer now to get a passport, 60-90 days is such a long wait! Goodluck!

I made an appointment online for my wife on May 16, and the first available appointment was July 12. It was at DFA Aseana.

She paid for expedited processing and home delivery. They said her new passport would be delivered July 28.

I hope that date is accurate! I'll update you guys.

Is the online appointment for the Manila DFA?

I just went to the philippines for a vacation. Since my Philippine passport is expired already so i have to renew my passport. Supposedly my vacation was from April 17 to May 28, 2011, however because my passport wasnt release yet before May 28, then i have to extend my stay for indefinite time, good thing my airline "Koreanair" didn't charge any penalty or rebooking fee for first time changes on the ticket. So i waited til my passport renewal was released, my stay in the philippines was extended til june 11, 2011.

The passport processing in Philippines now is "40 WORKING DAYS", well i would say in Cagayan de Oro but im not sure in other cities and provincies. They dont have expedited process anymore. In my case it was released before 40 days from the time i file my renewal because they just try their best to process it faster because i already have my return ticket with me for i didnt know that they change their system coz i was in the States the whole time. I was just lucky i got mine before 40 days but still the damage is done, i wasnt able to return on my supposed scheduled date.

So is that why my FIANCE has been waiting. He hasnt paid for it yet, because he has been waiting for them to call his name.

the e-passport is back to normal since june 29 but its better to apply in the province coz they dont set appointment unlike in dfa main (manila)..

Ahh... Ok, yeah he doesn't have an appointment schedule for lucena DFA. But hopefully he will be able to get it when he goes back the 3rd time.
