Hi Everyone,

Please let me know of your personal experience with the I-134 and consulate reactions:

I currently make 3,000 below the 125% threshold for my K1 application since I am a graduate student working for my school. ALso I have a past affidavit that counts towards my 'household size'

I have just enough savings to cover the difference (3X3,000=9,000) is needed, I have about 12,000. I know that the I-134 requires only 100% above poverty, but I am playing it safe.

By the OFFICIAL rules of the form, I do not need a co-sponsor, correct?

I am expecting much higher salaried job offer sometime this fall 2011 after I complete my degree by the time I fill out I-864

However, I consulted a very reputable immigration lawyer who said that:

Although I TECHNICALLY only need 9,000 in assets, this is not enough for the consulate (GUZ in this case).

They are actually looking for over 100,000 of assets.

Is this true? From your personal experiences? Please advise!

I am having difficulties with getting a co-sponsor....
