Just up to date information about Visa services in the US Embassy in Damascus and the current situation in Syria.

According the the Embassy website, All visa services at the US Embassy in Damascus have been suspended until further notice.

You can either wait for the Embassy to begin processing again, keep in mind the Embassy announced that they will be processing some immigrant visa app, but unfortunately no K1 visa are being processed at this moment. On the other hand, you can request via NVC for your case to be transferred to a near by Embassy... Turkey, Lebanon or Jordan. Below is a great Facebook page for the Embassy in Damascus where you can ask your questions directly to the consular officer and they are very quick in responding.
