So we filed DCF in London, and got our NOA1 dated March 18th. The embassy processing date is now past that, and we have heard nothing. So I called the £1.20 a minute line to see if there was any news, and they told me they have no record of our application?

Please tell me there is a good explanation for this, and not that they have lost the thing?

You got your NOA1 so they obviously do have a record of your application, so I would just shut your ears and ignore what they tell you. Even if they approve your application "on time" you may not hear anything for a few weeks. Some London DCF files were sent to Rome for processing, don't know if that would affect anyone's knowledge of what was going on. But honestly, I wouldn't put much stock in what they tell you on the phone :-)

You called the Immigrant Visa Unit probably which will eventually get your case sent over from the USCIS London field office (once the I-130 is approved). Call the USCIS office at 02074950551.
