Hi All,

Have a couple of questions regarding my birth certificate.

I am an Indian citizen, my birth certificate doesn't have my name as in India we don't name the child right at birth -its done later. It is in my native language so I will have to attach a notarized translation with it. Questions are:

  1. Birth certificate is torn in 3 pieces, however you can read the date and other things - Will this cause any issue during the interview?
  2. US consulate website in New Delhi states that since my certificate doesnt have my name, I can attach a secondary evidence which can be school certificate etc - now my issue is that all documents that I have doesnt carry names of both my parents, it only have my dad's name - Is it fine to submit this secondary evidence even if it has only dad's name on it?
  3. My passport has my DOB and both my parents name - can passport be submitted as a secondary proof?

I will really appreciate guidance on these issues. Thanks.

Cheers
