Hi,

According to the letter that I attached (which I saved from visajourney...still waiting on our very own copy), it says that you may schedule at the ASC of your choice. Is this (still) accurate? The NVC call center (which has been proven to not know what they are talking about) representative I spoke to this morning about something else informed me that there was a problem because my fiance will do the ASC appointment in Mexico City and the consulate interview obviously in Juarez. But she also said that he could do his consulate interview in Mexico City, which is obviously very wrong. In her defense, I had selected "non-immigrant" visa on the phone because the fiance visa IS a non immigrant visa, but I forgot that so many times it gets classified as an immigrant one even though it's not. Anyway. Insights? Thanks.

I would like to add that the appointment scheduling website informs you that you may only do the ASC appointment at the same consulate as your interview. AND that the fiance visa packet listed on the Juarez consulate website also says the thing about scheduling at the ASC of your choice. Who are you supposed to believe??

We were told that you can do the ASC appt in your home town but when I scheduled the appointment, there were only a few locations available which didn't include Cancun where my fiance is from. We just scheduled it in Juarez. I would recommend to do that because then you won't have to be worried if it is valid.

you dont have to do ASC in juarez, when u check the availability online check what other locations u can go to and u may find that one of them is in your hometown! In my case it wasnt an option so I just did it in Juarez. Just so u know, if you choose another location make sure u give them enough time to 'send' your info to Juarez.

There are others who have done their ASC in other cities and haven't had a problem, there are some who wrote reviews about it in the embassy review section.. I know they did the appointment like a week before the interview.

It shouldn't be a problem, I would contact one of the ones who did it in a different city just to see how they did it though-- for peace of mind :)
