Hi everyone! It's me again.

Need your help. :help:

In filing for DS-230 me, as the beneficiary needs to submit a photocopy of my passport biographic data page. My problem is, i had my passport renewed for change of name (married name) and it will not be ready until August 26! Can I submit the photocopy of my old passport (maiden name)?

5.19.2011 - filed for I-129f

5.24.2011 - I-129f NOA1 received

6.24.2011 - I-129f NOA2 received (APPROVED)

6.24.2011 - I-130 NOA2 received (APPROVED)

7.26.2011 - NVC received; Case Number and IIN received; gave email address; DS 3032 Sent

7.27.2011 - AOS Bill invoiced and paid (In Process)

7.28.2011 - AOS appears PAID

8.01.2011 - IV FEE invoiced and paid (In Process)

8.03.2011 - AOS sent ~~>received (8.5); APPROVED (8.15)

This is what I know - you have to use the name that shows in your passport for all the forms that you need to fill out - I-130, G325a, and the DS230. Your passport should show the exact name written on these forms. If you used your maiden name for the I-130 and G325a, your passport should show the same. If you used your married name from the start, your passport (and the photocopy that they are asking from you) should show your married name too.

Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. I would appreciate other comments to correct what I said and to help the OP as well. :thumbs:

October 2008 - we first met each other at work (Makati, Philippines)

February 2010 - we finally admitted that we are in love (yay!)

Mar 18-Apr 5, 2010 - hubby went to the Philippines for vacation to celebrate his birthday

March 31, 2010 - engagement day!! yay!!

August 21-29, 2010 - hubby went back again to PH for the wedding prep

October 19-November 2, 2010 - hubby arrived in PH for our wedding :)

October 23, 2010 - WEDDING DAY!!

March 18-28, 2011 - hubby's visit to Philippines for his bday (2nd bday together)

USCIS Stage - 136 days for USCIS journey

December 2, 2010 - I-130 sent to Chicago Lockbox

December 6, 2010 - I-130 received!! yay!!

December 13, 2010 - NOA1 text message received!

December 16, 2010 - NOA1 hard copy received in the mail

April 28, 2011 - NOA2!!! Thank you LORD!

NVC Stage - 21 days for NVC journey

May 2, 2011 - NOA2 hard copy received in the mail; NVC received our case

May 6, 2011 - Case number and IIN ; DS3230 sent by beneficiary through email to NVC

May 10, 2011 - AOS bill invoiced and paid

May 13, 2011 - IV bill generated and paid

May 16, 2011 - IV bill shows "PAID" ; AOS and DS230 packets sent to NVC

May 18, 2011 - NVC received both packets

May 19, 2011 - Medical exam - PASSED!!! :)

May 27, 2011 - Sign in Failed and Case Complete!!! Woot!

June 9, 2011 - Interview date assigned

July 14, 2011 - Interview @8:30am - APPROVED!!!!

July 21, 2011 - Visa Received! FINALLY!

July 23, 2011 - POE - Salt Lake City, Utah *home sweet home*

Actually, they will follow your IV (DS-230 form)your submitted and your passport. IT MUST BE THE SAME.... Like me, i have a problem with my name of my wife. Her maiden name was not included on I-130 and G325a. On her passport, it was included. When i talked to NVC rep, I was told that they will follow the Passport and DS-230. I called again and asked same question to different NVC rep and told me the same. To make changes or adjustment to her name I need to send a copy of her passport. She will receive her passport this coming July 12... Edited by rhenzhen

On my case my husband filed I-130 on my maiden name but on my G325a i used my married name. USCIS process, the petition was approved on my maiden name. Now on NVC my husband called and talked to a rep if we'll have problems the rep just said that they will follow the name that's on the passport. Now when NVC sent me my interview letter it's already under my married name. I'm not an expert but I suggest that you wait on your new passport and submit that to NVC to avoid an RFE, or maybe you can talk to DFA and ask them if they could possibly release your passport this month.
