1. What does the National Identification Number on Item 14 mean?

2. When do I sign my DS-156? now or during the interview?

Thanks

1. National Identification Number means if you are a citizen of another country, and that country has any such number, then write it in the box. My fiance at the time left the box blank.

2. My fiance signed it before the interview. The DS-156K is signed in front of the CO.
