Dear Forumers!

Thank you very much for being so kind for helping people in their needs!

We have the following situation with my husband: He is American living with me in Ukraine for 1 year. He does not have an official job here. He wants to file the I-130 through DCF but there is an issue: he can't prove the required income because he does not have a job in USA and lives here with me. My question is:

When we will start the process with Embassy will it be enough if in Affidavit of Support, he would mention that he had bank account with the sum of 20 000 $ or we need to find a joint sponsor because currently he is unemployed in USA?

He paid all the taxies during the previous 3 years but the income was below 125% Poverty Guideline....

I find on your website here the following statement: "the US Citizen and their spouse may use assets to qualify if the income requirement is not met." He does not have a property in USA, just renting a house....

Would 20 000 $ be enough to qualify if his income requirement is not met? or what sum of money do we need to show in his bank accont to meet the income requirment? (we dont have kids, just 2 of us!)

Please help, we need your advice.

Thanks.
