Creating U.S. Visa Service Account

Has anyone created and account for scheduling interview without yet having sent pkt3? I am curious about what interview dates are available at this point .. i'm not looking to book anything until pkt3 has been logged just curious )

For Montreal or Vancouver? I just booked in Vancouver for July 28/11 on this past Friday/July 24/11 but the earliest I saw was July 21/11. So it would seem about 3 - 4 weeks at this time for the earliest =) in Van. Not sure about Montreal though, I know they have longer times and I did see something the other day about earliest on Montreal being September at this time. Someone else might have to verify that.

For MTL: Montreal is fully booked until September 28th but supposedly they open up new dates twice a month. Currently the website says there are no available appointments. They should be opening up interviews for after September sometime soon, I hope. I already have my interview date but many MTLers are going nuts refreshing the CSC website, I'm sure.

I forget what information they ask for when you create your account, but it's possible to do so without booking an interview. However (I believe, not sure) that in order to look at the interview dates the website prompts you to pay the $350 fee. It is possible to skip this page without paying, however, I don't know if you have the option to pay online again after you skip that page. (Maybe someone else can offer their insight here?) You can always pay for it in person at the embassy but it slows things down, so paying online is preferable.

It's tempting to create an account now, but perhaps it's best to wait till Pkt4 is logged (keep calling DoS after you send Pkt3) before you look at available interview times or you'll just torture yourself.
