Form DS-2001 clarity

Hi Guys,

I am not sure about the form DS-2001. Do I have to post it to NVC with the DS-230 packet or I have to mail to NVC after. Please clarify is it for K1 visa or CR1/IR1 too

K1s send the DS-2001 to London when they have all their required documents in hand to say they are ready for the interview. (birth certificate, affidavit of suport, police certificate, divorce decree, court records, etc.) Those documents are taken to the embassy on the day of the interview by K1s.

You as a CR1 send all those same documents to the NVC. They will know you are ready to interview when they see you have sent in your documents/forms/payments etc. I see no purpose in the DS-2001 Readiness for Interview form to say you have gathered all those documents. No need to notify London that you have them in hand because you don't---NVC has them and London will get them in your file.

We mailed it with packet three stuff (and a letter begging for a quick interview, which they ignored.)
