Well, I have Puerto Rico's tax return, which is not exactly the same as US's one. So they'll have to take that. :P

Good, only last year's tax. And even if they don't give a damn about the bank information, etc, I'm providing it. It shows we worked for it. :P

i can go with just last years, but i'll bring the whole thing as it's an e-filing.

I asked about e-filed tax stuff (H&R Block) and they said they take those, with no problems.

Pára de me dar sustinho! Eu não tenho pay stubs. I have tax returns, employment letter and the letter from the bank. And, of course, I-134.

I only offer advice - not even legal. Just the plain and simple kind.

Ok, so do we need 3 years or last year is fine?

The latest is fine, as per I-134 instructions. The federal one.

It's 'cus there's a difference for K3 and K1 forms and required documents.

Mew, as far as I know, pay stubs, letters, etc are secondary evidence for the I-134 form, meaning that as long as you have evidence that proves what you put in the affidavit, you should be fine.

Yeah, well, we have everything that the I-134 mentions. So I think we're good. Thanks, Laura, for reassuring!

This rule changed this year. Now you just need one. Last year I had to bring the last 3 years. You are fine, Laura.

Our interview at Rio consulate was in May. I followed the I-134 instructions to the letter, plus the tax returns. You don’t need mortgage information or property tax information, deeds, car titles. The instructions don’t say to bring pay stubs, but I took them anyway. The C.O. didn’t ask for them at the interview. He only wanted the most recent tax return, but I took the last three just in case.

You should have a letter from your employer on company stationary stating your position, your salary and when you started, and whether your position is permanent or temporary. (If you are self employed there are different requirements – see I-134 instructions.)

You should have signed statements from an officer of your bank or other financial institutions stating how much you deposited during the last year, the current balance, and when the account was opened.

Follow the instructions, plus add the tax returns for Rio and your set.

Note: For the photos, if a female, do the pony-tail thing – the ears must be showing, or you will be going down the block from the consulate to have photos redone.

Yes.

The I134 is valid for one year.

Also,

I´d really like to hear from people with their interview scheduled, what exactly you´re brimgimg as a financial evidence.

Apart from the Tax Return, what else will you bring?

We did all that, except that the bank account information doesn't say how much it was deposited in the past year, although we have those transcripts that shows debits and credits done to the account in the past few months or so.

It seems that every person has an opinion about this financial thing.

Some people (Lisz is one of them, I think) said they don´t need the bank deposits letter...

Some people say they need the pay stubs.

From what I´ve read, they ask for the I134 form and the tax return so you´ll prove to be above the 125%.

A letter of the employer is also requested in some cases.

Now, what I think is any other info you bring is complementary, but not requested for sure.

Am I correct?

I think so. I think the latest tax returns are a "MUST-HAVE" document as they're primary evidence to support the info on the form. The letter from the employer not only would show income, but stability in the job - so I guess it's a good thing.

What I explained isn't so much opinion. We've had our interview and this is what he wanted to see. Could a different officer at the consulate what to look at different things? Maybe.

My suggestion is, if in doubt take it. But having been there, it would be adviseable to for sure take the things that I've listed.
