Birth Certificate

Fellow VJers! Greetings!

Just one question (for now), please. During the embassy interview, do i need to present an original copy of my fiance's Birth Certificate or a Certified True Copy with a notarized English version would suffice? Or need to submit both? For me, the beneficiary, I am aware that i need to submit an original but how about him, the petitioner?

Technically, during the embassy interview, the CO should have ALL the original civil documents that were submitted to NVC. However, sometimes there are lacking documents. And sometimes, the CO does request an original civil document (e.g. birth certificate). IMHO, I would have original birth certificates of both the petitioner AND the beneficiary. That's just me, though.

Hello there! That was quick!!! Thank you! We actually have both but my fiance is worried about sending the original (afraid it could get lost in the mail) since it's so hard to get another original copy from his home country. But reading reviews of those who are done with interview, i think we really have no choice but to submit the original as well.

This will show you the K Visa Guidance Sheet with all the necessary documents you need to bring to the interview. There is no mention of bringing the orig BC of either petitioner or beneficiary.
