NVC sent my visa files to Bangkok consulate and after a month of email and phone tugging, USEM finally sent a request to Bangkok to forward my files to them. I just decided to pay ahead before my files arrive and when I tried to schedule for an interview today, there was only one date made available to me and it's on Aug 12th. Is it always the case - only one date is made available? Secondly, it's full two months from today. The last post I saw said the latest available was July 12th so how come mine was a month later? Lastly, I did not expect to be able to schedule so soon because my files are still in transit (request was made only on Friday).

I'm glad to at least get an appointment but I think I will try to call them too and maybe secure an earlier schedule.
