I am from Gujarat.

I lived in Pune, Maharashtra from Oct 2005 to June 2008. However, I did not stay continuously for 6 months. Once in every 3 to 4 months I came back to my hometown. Do I still need the police certificate from Pune ?

I know that I will have to obtain PCC from passport office and local police in Gujarat.

I am confused whether PCC from Pune is required or not ?

VisaJourney members please help me. Thanks.

Dude, U will only need PCC from where ur Passport is Issued.

Currently u r in Gujarat so ur passport is issued from RPO, Ahmedabad. u only need PCC from RPO, Ahmedabad and ur local Police station .....

Indian applicants do not require PCC from every place where they have lived in the past..they require PCC from the place where their passport was issued ...

.but do mention in ur DS-230 form all the places where u lived since reaching age of 16....

You might want to check with consulate, earlier there were 2 PCC required police and passport, but I was hearing one was going away for India and police was not required anymore, but it was not very clear.

You might want to check with the embassy for the current requirement.

Hi Besthopes,

I am from Gujarat too and my case is similar to yours. I worked in Mumbai but every month I come back to my hometown in Gujarat.

What did u do out of following three in DS230

1.Mention PUNE as place where u lived for more then 6 months and obtained and submited PCC from Pune

2.Mention PUNE as place where u lived for more then 6 months but didnt submited PCC from pune

3.Didnt mention PUNE as place where u lived for more then 6 months.

Also did you mention PUNE as place where you worked in DS230?

Your help and suggestion will be very helpfull for me. Looking forward for your answer

Thanks in advance.. :)
