PCC Confusion

Ok, I am getting confused here.

My wife just got her first passport and I am still in USCIS processing but I am pretty sure it will be less than 6 months old to the time of the interview.

PCC is needed for NVC processing as well as the interview( I believe).

Now. I have read on the Consulate webpage that and it says the passport office that issued the passport is the PCC that is needed.

Do we need the local PCC at all?

She got her passport done from a travel agency in Vadodara. I believe they sent it to Ahmedabad to get the passport made. Is Ahmedabad the place where we need to get the Passport PCC from?

Thanks

I am going to keep my expletives down... lol Always something extra has to be done! :bonk:

This is what I am having her do...

I am having her file for her LOCAL PCC now. She will send me a certified copy or original copy if she obtains more than one to me here in the USA.

I will use this Local PCC to submit with my paperwork with DS-230 (IV) Packet. I will state in the IV packer that this is LOCAL PCC and Passport PCC will be submitted in the interview. This is to keep processing going and not have to wait for an RFE. I believe this is what you did Jig.

As soon as she gets her interview letter, she can go to issuing passport location (Ahmedabad) and take LOCAL PCC and interview letter and obtain Passport PCC. This is the process I have seen many of us Indian filers have to go thru and it works fine.

Let me know if you did something diffrent...

Also, where is the PCC application? Is this something she will find at the passport issuing location?

Hi Dave... i actually sent my originals in to NVC... not certified copies... just to be on the safe side... and i didnt want them to send me an RFE for that...

but u can mention in ur cover letter that u will submit PCC at the embassy on the day of the interview... and that is fine...

i dont know about baroda but in Anand they asked my wife to show them the RFE... otherwise they wont issue her a local PCC...

i think every district has different set of rules...
