Good morning!

Our application finally arrived at NVC only for it to pop straight into AP! Two questions:

1. I asked the lady if she knew why and she said that they just randomly pick applications to do further background checks (I know in statistic they do a random sample). Is that correct or is it some jargon they use so they don't really have to explain it?

2. I know these things fluctuate so there's no point in looking at threads from 5 months ago - has anyone recently gone through AP at NVC and what was your timeline? I see it's a week to five weeks, but I'd like to get a better idea of how things are progressing at the moment.

Thanks! Trying to stay optimistic! It's weird going from a high of "NOA2!!!" to a low of "AP : ("... "He giveth and he taketh away..."

Still don't know the answer to whether or not it's random, but I called this morning and VSC said they shipped it out yesterday. So yesterday morning it was in AP, yesterday evening it was sent to the embassy.

I just wanted to update folks in case they hear the dreaded "AP" news and are searching for answers. I'm sure mine isn't quite normal as I hear it's usually an additional week, but I wanted to use my example as one for folks to have hope that theirs won't drag out. So we were at NVC a total of 8 days I believe (including AP).

Please have faith and keep your heads above water, things do progress eventually!

Ok I don't see a place to edit my post a second time, but I wanted to make a correction. Yesterday was actually the first time the NVC admitted they had our application so in actuality we were in NVC less then a day... So maybe going into AP was a good thing in disguise as they obviously quickly found the answers they were looking for and just sent it along its merry way...

Sorry for the additional post but wanted to correct my earlier error.
