embassy delay in sendinding visa

My wife recieved her pink sheet on her second interview on may 19th. The pink slip and information she recieved said the visa would be ready in three days and could be picked up at the designated Post Office , On the third business day she went to the post office, no Visa. She has since returned home to Fushun

' I have written the Embassy and they responded that they had a system problem and the visa would be written as soon as the problem was corrected . On the 7th business day , after the 2nd letter the Embassy reponded the Visa still had not been written. The third letter to the Embassy , reponse was "check next week ". Next week will be 18 days.11,busness days .I was wondering has anyone had a similular encounter . the bad thing is when you call the number for the post office given 020-381 88078 , there is no answer. When the Visa is printed she has to go back to Guangzhouz to pick it up. She opted to get the visa at Gunagzhouz , because it would have been o nly theree additional days. The post office will not forward the visa to Shenyang to because she had indicated she would pick the Visa up in Guangzhou. So when ever the Visa is printed , its 2000 miles back.

Has anyone had a problem not getting their Visa in a timely manner

It is not uncommon to get the visa a few weeks after the initial approval.

Sometimes the Consulate has not finished its "other" processing or you can be randomly pulled up for an audit.

Ya, my favorite 'reason' was 'we ran out of ink for the printer' for the thing that makes the visa .

but - unless she's on AP, is prolly some internal issue .

Call DoS Hotline Human on Monday, inquire for casefile status.

hi bob G, Its not a good feeling that their is another person out there feeling the same pain , but thanks for sharing. I hope that today was your lucky day. The funny thing My congressional liaison sent an E Mail on May 31 and the office has not had a reply. A specific question was ask , " why tell someone that the Visa would take 3 bussiness days days". It will be interesting to hear their reply . Please let me know when you hear the good news and if i hear , i will do the same. keep the faith, you have survived this long, but i know the time since may 4 . has been the longest wait of all

are you guys calling DoS Hotline, asking for status?

Ask, as well, specifically if the casefile is in AP.

also ask if the namechecks are complete, or no.

ok - when you call in again, ask the same things that I'm blathering on about (they won't tell you, unless you ask directly)

1. Is she on AP or not?

2. Are the namechecks complete, or not ?

bOB G , GOOD NEWS VISA WAS ISSUED ON JUNE 2. HOW DID I FIND OUT ? MY CONGRESSMAN LIASON SENT E MAIL AND THEY RESPONED TO HIS OFFICE,, NOTE OF INTEREST

MY WIFE RECIEVED A CALL FROM SOME INDIVIDUAL SAYING THAT HE COULD HELP GET HER VISA , FOR 20,000RMB. HE KNEW THE AGE OF HER SON, AND THAT HE WAS NEARING THE AGE LIMIT. HE TOLD HER NOT TO TELL HER HUSBAND BECAUSE AMERICANS AND CHINESE ARE DIFFERENT. THE INFO ABOUT MY SON AND HER TELEHONE NUMBER COULD ONLY HAVE COME FROM THE EMBASSY , SOMETHING TO BE AWARE OF FOR EMOTIONALLY FRAZZLED WIVES WHO THINK THEY MAY SURPRISE THEIR HUSBANDS . THIS CALL CAME THE SAME TIME I WAS TOLD BY MY CONGRESSMAN AND BEFORE WE HAVE SEEN ANYTHING ON EMS
