I'd like to find out if I apply for an EAD while on K1, how long is it valid for? What if I was given an EAD, and then we got married then apply for adjustment of status, is the EAD still valid? Let's say that it has expired already, can I renew it while waiting to become a legal permanent resident?

If you apply for an EAD while on the K-1 Visa it cots something like $340, is valid as long as the I-94 is valid (less than 90 days), and may take up to 2 months to arrive. Most people recommend getting married and applying for AOS, EAD, and AP all at the same time. Cost $1070. EAD and AP arrive in about 2 months and the GC about one month or so later (that was our timeline of events). It is up to you as to what you want to do, but remember that the USCIS takes a lot of time to process any application.

Good luck on whatever you decide to do.

Hello Dave. You got your gc so fast, I thought it will take approximately 2years. Anyway, very helpful information from you, thank you so much. I think I'll have to consider getting married first.
