JUAREZ police report question and more..

Ramon wants to know exactly which kind of police report he's supposed to get. When I told him "antecedentes no penales," he asked me whether it was supposed to be municipal or (I think?) federal.

Anyone know this?

Also, should he be getting this together now before he gets the packet 3 in? Is there anything else he should be getting? I just want to be sure that I understand this right... I've found this site and reading under "Packet 3 Contains" I assume that's all he'll need but is there anything else?: http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/index.php?ctry=Mexico&cty=Juarez

Also, are there any requirements on how recent the documents need to be? If there are then maybe he should wait to gather those things until he gets the packet? It gets so confusing sometimes...

Are you the petitioner or beneficiary? If the beneficiary, then which kind of Mexican police report?

my fiance just went to the local municipal police station and ordered the antecedentes no penales from the town that we live in, it was not a federal thing.. they actually charged us 115 pesos and told us it'd take 10-15 days to be ready, but at least we'll have it for the interview.

Some people say it's not necessary but we'd much rather be safe than sorry.

Yes, I totally agree with Nikolacolada, I also read a review (here in VJ) where the beneficiary did not take it to the interview and told the officer that the package 3 said he did not need it and the officer looked at him like he was lying, at the end he had no problems but of course I want to avoid all kind of issues at the interview, that's why I am bringing mine as well. I did exactly the same, went to my local police st and ordered, it was free and its going to take 3 days. No problems!

So you got the municipal one then? Is that what I tell him to get?
