Hi guys! Is it also needed to have my dual citizen baby get registered at CFO? She has both US passport and Philippine passport. If so, what other documents should I bring during the registration process since she has a US passport and not a visa on her Philippine passport?

And by the way, I cannot find the GUIDANCE AND COUNSELLING FORM only the registration form on the CFO website, can anyone out there help me find to where I can get it online? Thanks a lot! :)

It's up to you guys if you decide to get a PI passport for your baby, it's not mandatory to have one once the baby has his/her US passport already. We decided to get a PI passport forour baby because if me and my baby need to travel back to the Philippines for emergency reasons, then she can stay with me longer than a year.

Based on what I have read for Fil-Ams travel, you will use the US passport in entering and/or leaving the US. And based on my understanding of the Phil. law, you will use the PI passport in leaving and/or entering the PI as well. In short, you will use the PI passport from NAIA Philippines and use the US passport upon arrival to a US territory airport. But then to make sure, just present both passports in any airports, it doesn't hurt to try. Good luck. :)

Any members here can correct me if I'm wrong. :)

I believe you are correct about where to use each passport but in order to get the baby a Philippine passport you need to register the birth with the Philippine Embasst nearest consuilar office. Then apply for the baby to get a Philippinen passport after the report of birth is completed and certified copy sent to you. You will need to take the baby to the Philippine counsular or Embassy to get the passport.

I ahve been through this s If you have any further questiions just PM me.

Get the Philippine passport at the DFA. Use both to exit the Philippines, and the U.S. Passport at POE.

Even if she is a Philippine citizen too? I thought CFO said all Filipinos should register at CFO before they are allowed to travel abroad.

Thank you for your reply but still I did not found the form for guidance and counselling based on the link that you gave me and I already visited that site (CFO site) many times but still didn't found the form. Is it really entitled GUIDANCE AND COUNSELLING FORM or anything else?????

Yes, she is already a US citizen but then she is a Philippine citizen too, she is not just American baby but also a Filipino baby. I am really confused cos the CFO website says "All Filipino emigrants leaving the country to settle abroad permanently are required by law to register with CFO. No one is exempted from pre-departure registration.". Do you mean, this does not apply to dual nationals??? If you say yes, then I believed you cos you might have done this process already..? :)

3-4 months. Take a look at my signature so you'll have an idea when you can have your baby's CRBA and US passport on hand. Do you mean paying the DNA specimen collection fee at St. Luke's? So, your baby's DNA kit is at the embassy already?

Why it took you so long to get your baby's CRBA? I have a friend and she got hers after 10 days. I don't have problem with my papers when i interviewed last May 23. The only thing we need to get done is DNA test for my fiance and for my son. They already sent the kit today to US Embassy here and the collection of specimen for my fiance will be on friday. I'm just waiting for the Embassy/St. Lukes to contact me so I can bring my son in US Embassy. So, is it okay to submit our petition for K1 even though i haven't have his passport yet?

Well, looking at your timelines i think I can file it. Thanks for the info that helps a lot. The Consulate told me the sooner you get done with DNA test the better. It took me 3 days before I found the cheapest DNA laboratory cause others are too expensive.
