I'm all ready for my interview pretty much, just need to pay for it

When is a good time to call?

I've tried several times and get told there are high call volumes and to call back later. Trouble is each call is expensive with the extortionate cost, and I'm just throwing money away trying to call and getting nowhere each time.

They close the lines at 9 pm so try evening time might be less callers and it is expensive however it is worth it and it took me a few attempts and I managed to do it so keep trying it is luck of drawer at times ... hope this helps...

Do they actually charge you if you don't get through?

Yes they do, they make you sit through the whole thing explaining the payment and all that, then when you finally press the right buttons to speak to someone:

"I'm sorry, all lines are busy, please call back later"!

No queue system.

I had to go through this about 3 times (being told to call back) and then when I finally DID get through, I went through to the wrong section, then when I finally did get to the right section her payment system was down so I had to call...again.

Probably spent over £30.

Don't forget this isn't the embassy (to anyone else). This is a call centre based out of Glasgow.

David.

AARRRGGHHHH! :ranting: I think I would just show up at the embassy without paying in advance and tell them why, if we were back at that point now. I know I would. I'm very calm, but then there's that straw that breaks the camel's back. That would be the breaking point for me and I would get my stubborn on and challenge it.

After spending probably £10 not getting anywhere I got Karen to call from America, she paid the $16 got through straight away and I spent her the money to pay for it.

So that's my advice to anyone else paying their MRV

Ditto to that! I called and payed from the US and it was only $16 and they didn't charge me til I was talking with a live person. Keep in mind that on this line the K1 is an IMMIGRANT visa whereas in other places it has been referred to as non-immigrant. I saw an explanation for this discrepancy somewhere on this site, but I can't remember where.

I think you can only call that number from America, but you can just do what we did. Get the petitioner to pay it and send the money to them with paypal.
