Hello, I am trying to understand the Medical portion of the CR-1 Visa Application.

My wife is currently in Germany, has been there for the last 16 years but holds a Polish passport.

When does my wife go to the medical exam.

How does she go, is there a certain appointment that she will be given?

Can she go anywhere for the exam?

If any other important things that you think i would like to know that would be more helpful for me, please do so.

I am totally clueless on this portion of the visa.

Thank you for all answers in advance.

Everywhere is different--have her call the embassy and they will tell her exactly what they want her to do and when they want it. It will never happen in Germany where "rules are rules" but here in Costa Rica we called the embassy and they said no reason to wait until the interview is scehduled--just go at our convenience so we did--today--and after a couple of missing vaccinations, Emma has the medical done, and in maybe 6 weeks or so she will have the interview scheduled.

Im sure there will 'be plenty of folks here with experience in Germany who will help, but like I have said so many times, just pick up the phone and most embassies are eager to help. And once you get the answer, please post it here to help others.

Hello,

I just went to the medical for the K1 in Frankfurt and I was talking to a couple that applied for the CR1 visa and went through the same progress.

You don't need to have an appointment letter. In Frankfurt you can just do walk-in.

The cost is 140 Euro and you are done after 2-3 hours.

You can find all information on here:

Let me know if you need more help!

Good luck :-)
