k-1 Juarez interview

Hi, I have a couple a question regarding the new procedures in Juarez that I am hoping I can get some help with. I am applying for the k-1 visa. I am a little confused with this new process. I just finished filling out the DS-260 and have the printed confirmation. Now, I am wondering what to do next to schedule the interview. Do you schedule it on the same site you sign up for the appointment for prints? Or is it better to call and schedule the appointment? From DHL tracking, it looks like Juarez has received the package or will receive it tomorrow. I will confirm with the consulate first that they have indeed received it, but if I know that, is it safe for me to schedule the interview before receiving package 3? Thanks for all of your help!

It will still be a month or two after they receive your case that they will send out your packet three. In our case they sent it about 6 weeks later and we received it a week after that. So you have a little bit of time before you need to schedule your interview. They have been flip flopping a little bit on whether you can schedule your interview right when they send it or if you have to wait that extra week or so until you actually receive it. In any case you can schedule your interview, ASC(fingerprint appt)and pay MRV fee either on the website OR over the phone. I paid online and made my appointments over the phone with my confirmation number for my payment.

We hope you and your heart throb will be safe down in CDJ. It's rough down there. God Bless!

How did you find out your DHL tracking number? The NVC sent my K-1 paperwork this Monday (my guess is that it takes 3 days from the NVC to Juarez). Should I call NVC and ask them for my tracking number?

Also (if anyone out there knows), let's say I receive package 3 July 1, can I book the appointments for as early as July 15? What's the earliest I can make the appointments?

I'm a teacher and I would love it if I could get all this done before I return to teach (late August). Assuming my K-1 visa makes it to Juarez by tomorrow, what are the chances I'll get packet 3 before June 20?

Thanks!

When I called on a Thursday I was able to book my my fiance's interview for the following week. Maybe it varies if there are a lot of people? When you go on the website and make your profile you can look at different appointments that they have available.

It's possible that you'll get your packet before June 20th but not likely. CDJ received ours Feb3 and we got the packet March 21st so if yours processes the same time you'll probably get it early July and can make your appointments mid July.

I think if everything goes normally that you'll be done with plenty of time to get back to school!

We got Packet 3 only 2 weeks after NOA2. Not all the cases are the same. I didn't even call NVC to check if it was there or ask for case #. It all came together to Michael's door.

Sorry to take so long to reply.

Alejandra y Mario- This is how we tracked our package (based on what others have said in this forum). You find out from NVC when they sent your package to the consulate. Then, you go here to the DHL site: http://www.dhl.com/en/express/tracking/shippers_reference.html . There you will ship by a reference number based on the day your package left. NVC said our package left May 13, so this was the reference we used in our search: EXP 13 MAY 2011A. The only thing you change is the day and month to the day your package left. It is case sensitive as well. Then you choose a range of dates and the country your package was sent to, and it should bring up a list. I have read others say if it left from NH that it was the package, but in my searches, I have only seen Boston. Anyways, I *think* that is how you track it.

C_Maria, we were actually thinking of waiting to have our interview until about the 3rd week of July so that we can buy plane tickets a little cheaper (which we wanted to go ahead and buy now). You think we will be safe buying them now and hoping package 3 comes before then?

Thanks for your help everyone!
