Just trying to get in touch with someone that already had an interview in Cd. Juarez?

I just wonder how did it go? We are going to fly and want to book the tickets.

Should we book a ticket back on the day after the interview... we are not going to the States right away, I'll get my VISA sent to my hometown... my interview it's at 7:15 am

Should we go ahead and book or should we just book the ticket to get there and then book the ticket to get back once the VISA is approved? We are just concerned that it's going to be quite expensive... and possibly not available, I'm leaving the kids with my mom, but I can't afford to take so long, they are little.

What to do?

I was dealing with the same dilemma. I recommend buying a two-way ticket because they tend to be cheaper if only because you're buying it in advance, but not for the same day of the interview. I have heard of people who were able to fly back the very same day, but no matter how confident you are, it's still a 50/50 shot and you don't want to put yourself in a difficult position. What we did is book the return flight for the next day in the evening (8 pm) that way in case something came up and they needed us to go the next day, I could manage to do whatever they ask for and still make it to the flight that evening. Also, try to get a flight that you can change dates on, even if it's for a fee. I did the math and for us that was a cheaper option than buying the ticket the day we wanted to fly back because the prices skyrocket when you buy the same day or even the day before.

I'm going to go ahead and book the tickets to go back the next day, though I can't book them that late, from Mexico City Airport I have to catch 2 buses so. Praying everything works out fine. Please let me know how it goes with your interview, you have it before us, ours is on 14th. Thanks for your answer.

Go to this site and ask the same question--they literally have hundreds and hundreds of people who have gone thru CDJ.

Thanks for the info :)

I recommend buying "travel insurance". Mine was about $40 to buy the insurance and they were able to refund about 80% of the ticket price in a check or 100% in credit to use with that same airline within the year. All of them are a little bit different so read the fine print first.

I'm glad I did because we needed it!
