i filed for removal of conditions in May'2010 no decision made yet , did not get the call for interview either , so i filed for N400 this month . When i field for Removal of Conditions, my permanent residency extended by one year , that is it expires at the end of July'2011.

Do i need to do anything to extend my status ? or just wait for the N400 .. Please advise

5-14- 2010 -- mailed the package

5-18- 2010 -- NOA Receipt Date

9-16-2010 -- ASC appt

AOS still pending, interview not schedules, after my last call to USCIS i decided to go with N400 instead of AOS

05-07-2011: mailed the package for N400

05-12-2011- Received email form USCIS acceptance of application , also receipt number

If you haven't received your US citizenship by July, you need to make an Infopass appointment to get the I-551 stamp on your passport, this stamp will extend your permanent residency for another 12 months.

We were in the same situation, almost. Made an infopass appointment for an I-551 stamp in my wifes' foreign passport, you have to keep yourself legal when your one year extension is just about to expire.

Really don't know about the USCIS, they seemed to have completely forgotten about us. The major threat to my wife was losing her job, state would fine her employer $16,300.00 for employing an undocumented person and they considered one with an expired LPR card, undocumented. Second threat, but not as serious was the state DMV that would have pulled her drivers' license.

Fortunately, her ten year card came in just a couple of days before that long trip for that I-551, so we could cancel that. If you don't have a current valid foreign passport, can bring in two passport photos and apply for an I-94. But hopefully your ten year card will come in before then.

In contacting my attorney on this issue, he suggested I call our senators office. They quickly found our I-751 was misplaced from the move between Nebraska and California that I feel more than anything expedited her ten year card. Still see the USCIS is still shifting addresses, suggest you also call your senators office, you are getting very close to the deadline.

Five minutes to you or me is like five months to the USCIS.
