Vancouver Consulate Timeline

Hey y'all (I'm practicing to move South).

Another lame/selfish question.

For those who have picked up their DHL package at the Vancouver depot, how many business days until you received it? For those of you who got it shipped, did you by chance track it and see when it was first registered at the Vancouver depot (same day, next day, 2-3 days, etc)?

I know the official word is that it takes a few business days to receive the visa by DHL. But I'm wondering if that applies more to those being shipped or to those being delivered in Vancouver.

Basically, I'm trying to schedule my flight. Once I get the visa, I am prepared to hop on the next plane south. I don't want to stay in Vancity any longer than necessary (as nice as it is) but also don't want to book a flight too soon. To book a flight for the next day typically doubles or triples the normal price, but spending more time at a hotel is also not very cost effective. In the grand scheme of things it is definitely non-essential, but I'm curious what timeline I might "expect."

Any insight anyone can give me would be helpful.

No one has gotten their visa from Vancouver lately?

Well it's going to vary on where you live. I live on Vancouver Island. My Interview was on May 5th (thursday), and it was ready for pickup on Tuesday. So only 3 business days. But I live really close. They didn't update the "tracking" on the website until it was ready for pickup at the Victoria DHL. I say, if you're picking it up from Vancouver, give it two days to be "processed" by the Consulate and then the third day to get to DHL. But that's really just a guess. Hope that helps at all

I guess I'll just add a couple nights to my hotel reservation and plan to fly at a later date. It's going to be lame waiting in Vancouver, especially if I already have my visa in hand. But such is life.
