For all of VJ users that have received your K-1 Visa interview date/time, how long did it take for you to receive letter? How many months out was it? The waiting is soooo hard and the Nigerian Consulate is of now help. I just keep getting the "Auto Response".

Nigerian US Embassy, let's just say is very unique. It takes them long time to do anything.

They are in charge, so pray and pray hard. As Patient2010 indicated, the beneficiary will be the one receiving the response as to when the interview is.

It has been our experience that they will give you enough notice in advance. They gave us about almost two months notice before the set interview date.

I hope this answers your question. Good luck! Let us know how it goes.

I appreciate the feedback. Three weeks...wow. What email address did you use to request the interview date?

Two months, that would put us into July I think. It is so hard to plan the wedding. Right now we've set July 16, 2011 as our wedding date. I wish there was a way to motivate them to move quicker. Friends of ours from Nigeria will be in the States during June/July and want to be there for us. My fiance is a much more patient person than me as he understands how things work in Nigeria :dead:

One of the first things you need to keep in mind is that setting a date for wedding or any events should not be etched in stone. I would suggest reconsidering your wedding date, I hope you made sure your deposits are refundable. I am sorry, I don't mean to be mean, but until you see your fiance walk out of the terminal of the airport, you should hold off any dates. I pray all goes well for you and your fiance and may the visa be granted on the interview without any glitches.

I don't mean to pry, but have you put deposits on anything? and have you discussed what if you don't meet the set date?

Please let us know how things go, thanks!

I've not put deposits down on anything, just really praying for July. It's a pain because of my job. I have to request time off months in advance. It will be much easier to plan once an interview date is given. Looking at other posts, it looks like interviews are being made now for July. Oh well....So close.....Thanks for the advice.
