AP Form (I-131)

I've read that it's suggested that everyone fill out an AP form (even if there isn't a trip on the horizon) in case of a family emergency or an urgent need to go home without advanced notice. I'm filling this out and I'm not sure what to put for the specific trip questions. Does it matter what you put here? If we put January (our next planned trip overseas), then something happens and he has to visit home before then, will the AP still be valid or is there a time stamp on them depending on what you put on this form?

When i submitted my wife's AOS, i applied for AP as i was considering the honeymoon. I was "considering it" but didn't happen at the time planned. The GC came on time and never had any use for the AP. Is not bad to apply for it, for the just in case situation.

I put something like "Unknown at present" and checked the box for more than one trip. This proved acceptable. Plus, I never used the AP.

Possibly, since the I-131 form is not just for AP but for other kinds of entry/exit application, the precise trip listing is expected more for those than for AP applications.

Thanks for your reply! We are definitely applying for it (even if it's not needed), but do you think the date of the intended trip on the form matters? If something happens, and he has to leave the country a few months before the January trip date I'm putting on the application, would it still be valid to use whenever? I'm not sure how APs work.

Dates are just part of the protocol. We are not bound to leave the country the day we posted on the AP application. You will be find in providing an expected/intended date.

Dates are just part of the protocol. We are not bound to leave the country the day we posted on the AP application. You will be find in providing an expected/intended date.

Oh one more quick question (it's off-topic, but since I have your attention...): What did you put for Part 3 of the I-485 "Nonimmigrant Visa Number"? Is this the same as the A number?

No, the non immigrant visa Numberis found in your passport where the embassy stamped the K-1

He doesn't have a K-1 stamp with a number...do you mean the I-94 number?

Or the control number? There's also a number in red that starts with a C on the visa itself, is that it?

The multi color visa "stamped or glued" by the embassy has a number.. that # is your non immigrant visa

Totally agree.. the amount of stress and pressure we go through is heavy and we missed and/or not think clearly.. this website has been a blessing ..
