I-864 (and I-130 for that matter) with dependent minor children

Filling out I-864 (AOS) and reading the accompanying instructions I find the following:

Often a spouse or minor children obtain visas or adjust status

as dependents of a relative, based on the same visa petition. If

you are sponsoring such dependents, you only need to provide

a photocopy of the original Form I-864, as long as these

dependents are immigrating at the same time as the principal

immigrant or within six months of the time he or she

immigrates to the United States.

So it must be possible then to file a single I-130 for a spouse and a minor child. This would save the expense and reduce the paperwork.

I filed 2 I-130 (for spouse and 11 year old stepson), so I have no choice now but to file 2 I-864 and pay twice too.

Did anybody ever managed to file single I-130 for a spouse and a dependent minor child included on it and to have only a single USCIS and then NVC case number for both?????
